Belaukiant jubiliejinio – 25-ojo – festivalio „Vilnius Mama Jazz“, sostinė sulauks ypatingo renginio – 2025 m. lapkričio 12 d. LVSO koncertų salėje pasirodys vienas iškiliausių visų laikų saksofonininkų – Charlesas Lloydas.
87-erių džiazo ikona šiemet triumfavo Džiazo žurnalistų asociacijos apdovanojimuose, o jo naujausias albumas „The Sky Will Still Be There Tomorrow“ pripažintas geriausiu metų albumu. Tai įrodymas, kad Ch. Lloydas – ne tik legenda, bet ir vis dar kūrybos viršūnėje.
Carlosas Santana jį vadina „pasauline vertybe“, o „The New York Times“ rašo: „Jo pasirodymai, kupini veržlumo ir intuicijos, puikiai atspindi idėją, kad geriausią džiazą reikia patirti gyvai.“

As the jubilee 25th edition of the “Vilnius Mama Jazz” festival approaches, the Lithuanian capital is set to receive a special event– on November 12, 2025, one of the greatest saxophonists of all time, Charles Lloyd, will perform at the LVSO Concert Hall.
At 87, the jazz icon triumphed at this year’s Jazz Journalists Association Awards, while his latest album “The Sky Will Still Be There Tomorrow” was named Album of the Year. This proves that Ch. Lloyd is not only a legend, but also still at the very peak of his creativity.
Carlos Santana calls him an international treasure and “The New York Times” writes: “His shows, full of momentum and intuition, perfectly represent the idea that the best jazz needs to be experienced live.”
From “Forest Flower” – the first jazz album ever to sell over a million copies – to collaborations with “The Beach Boys,” “The Doors,” and and Keith Jarrett – for more than six decades, Charles Lloyd has been writing music history, and soon audience in Vilnius will have the chance to experience his world-class jazz live.
